Emergency situations
In the event of an emergency, serious injury or deterioration in health
If your life is in danger or your state of health requires immediate intervention, you can, at any time, go to an emergency room in the region by:
- Calling 911 to request emergency assistance or ambulance transportation;
- Taking a safe means of transportation to the nearest emergency room.

In the event of poisoning
The Centre antipoison du Québec responds to the public and healthcare professionals who are faced with an emergency poisoning situation.
Call 1 800-463-5060 at anytime (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
Solutions for non-urgent health problems
Info-Santé and Info-Social 811
Info-Santé
By calling 811, you can talk to a nurse or a social worker. These services are available by telephone at all times (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
Info-Santé nurses (811, option 1) can answer your questions or give you advice about your health or that of a loved one.
- For advice on a health problem for a child aged between 0 and 17 years, you can reach Info-Santé pediatric line by calling 811, option 1 (then option 2 for the pediatric line).
Info-Social
Info-Social healthcare professionals (811, option 2) can help you when you’re going through a difficult situation, intervene in a crisis or direct you to the right service depending on your need.
Pharmacist
Your pharmacist can extend your doctor’s prescription until your next appointment. They can also adjust or administer medication, as needed, and prescribe certain medications appropriate to your situation, whether it’s for traveller’s diarrhea, pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting, emergency oral contraception, urinary tract infections in women, allergic conjunctivitis, cold sores, etc.

Primary care access point (GAP)
People who do not have a family doctor can use the primary care access point to access health care services. You will be referred to the right health care professional who will be able to meet your needs in a timely manner.
Québec medial appointment scheduler
You can book a one-off medical appointment. This service is free.
Super-clinic (FMG access-network)
You can book a one-off medical appointment at a super-clinic (FMG access-network).
Jeffery Hale Minor Emergency Clinic
Go to the Jeffery Hale Minor Emergency Clinic to be seen by one of the professionals there. If the consultation does not involve seeing a doctor, it will be carried out by another professional.
Please note that this clinic does not offer medical follow-up. It responds to specific needs that require immediate consultation.
Anyone with a health problem that is not life-threatening, but still requires care within 24 to 48 hours, can go there.
English-Speaking Community
Integrated Bilingual Access
The bilingual access desk makes it easier for clients to obtain frontline services. It also helps them to access the services they need as quickly as possible.

Health and Social Care in English
Several services are offered in English, including:
- Home support
- Mental health assistance
- Prenatal and postnatal care
- Routine care
- Support for individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and physical disabilities
