Welcome to the Community Geriatrics Unit (UTRF)
The team of competent professionals in the Community Geriatrics Unit at Jeffery Hale provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for seniors with reduced autonomy. We make every effort to find out why you’re becoming less independent and get you back on your feet.

The Community Geriatrics Unit at the Jeffery Hale (UTRF) serves people age 65 or over with reduced autonomy in the Greater Québec City region. The following teams of professionals work in partnership in the rehabilitation unit:
- Management and liaison team
- Medical team
- Healthcare team (nurses, nursing assistants, and orderlies)
- Rehabilitation team (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation therapist)
- Psychosocial and spiritual team
- Nutrition team
- Pharmacy team
Referrals
Seniors can be referred to the Community Geriatrics Unit (UTRF) by a healthcare professional such as a doctor or social worker.
Capacity
The Community Geriatrics Unit (UTRF) has 16 beds. Stays in the unit usually last a few weeks.
Cost
You must have a valid health insurance card. The rates for private and semi-private hospital rooms are set under the Hospital Insurance Act. For more information, visit the Services Québec website.
Hours
Care is provided to residents of the Community Geriatrics Unit (UTRF) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
