Call 418-661-3700 or 1-800-463-4834

If you believe that a child’s safety, health, or development is compromised, it is your duty to report it. Specifically, you must report any situation of :

  • Physical abuse;
  • Sexual abuse;
  • Serious neglect.

You can report a situation to the DYP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When your observations or the words of the child give you reasonable grounds to be concerned for their safety, do not hesitate to contact the Directorate of Youth Protection (DYP). Professionals will take the necessary steps to verify. Situations that require intervention as provided for under the Youth Protection Act will be handled by these professionals.

Absolute certainty is not a prerequisite for reporting a situation where a child needs protection.

Your Report will be kept confidential. Your identity cannot be disclosed without your consent, whatever the reason.
