Q: What is the wait time at the Minor Emergency Clinic?
A: It is impossible to estimate your wait time at the Minor Emergency Clinic. It all depends on the order of priority established based on your condition.
Then the wait time to see a doctor depends on how many people are already waiting and how serious your condition is.
Q: Do I need to make an appointment for the Minor Emergency Clinic?
A: No, you can come directly to the clinic for consultation.
Q: Do I need to make an appointment for a laboratory test (blood test, urine test, etc.)?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I call the minor emergency clinic to speak directly to a nurse or doctor?
A: No. However, you can call 811 to speak to an Info-Santé nurse. Info-Santé services are available in English and French, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q: How can I get a family doctor?
A: Jeffery Hale does not offer family doctor services. To find a family doctor, please visit the see a doctor or a nurse page on the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale website or the registering with a family doctor page at quebec.ca, the official Government of Quebec website.
Q: What about parking?
A: You must pay for parking at all Jeffery Hale – Saint Brigid’s locations. A payment terminal at the main entrance of the Jeffery Hale Hospital and another outside the Saint Brigid’s Home CHSLD are accessible at all times.
Family members of people living in our long-term care residences (CHSLDs) can obtain a monthly parking permit.
Q: Where can I find an ATM?
A: If you need cash to pay for parking (or for any other reason), you can find ATMs at the banks on chemin Sainte-Foy or avenue Maguire.
Q: How do I get a Jeffery Hale Hospital card?
A: To obtain your Jeffery Hale Hospital card, go to the reception (at the main entrance). We create your hospital card on the day of your appointment at Jeffery Hale so be sure to arrive half an hour early (we apologize that we cannot do this in advance for an appointment later on).
Q: Where can I find something to eat or drink at Jeffery Hale?
A: The cafeteria is open 7 days a week, from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. To get to the cafeteria, take the stairs or elevator down to Level G.
Q: What are the visiting hours in the long-term care residences?

A: You can go to the florist or gift shop of your choice. Call the Jeffery Hale central reception at 418-684-JEFF and dial 0 to obtain the room number for delivery.

Q: Can I use my cell phone in the hospital?
A: You can use your cell phone or other portable device in most places, with the exception of the observation and consultation rooms in the Emergency Department, and in the Medical Imaging (radiology) Department. Thank you for your cooperation. Free WiFi is available in the emergency or outpatient clinic waiting room.
Q: Can I get a wheelchair at the entrance?
A: Wheelchairs are located at the main entrance of the hospital, near the Emergency Room. If none are available, please ask at the emergency check-in desk.
